On April 15, the DOJ charged the owners of three of the world’s largest Internet gaming companies with bank fraud and gambling offenses, shutting down their Web sites and freezing bank accounts around the world: online poker fans are calling it “Black Friday”.

Now, poker advocates in Washington are attempting to turn the bust to their advantage by renewing a push to legalize online poker in the United States.

The Poker Players Alliance, a lobbying group made telephone calls and e-mails to lawmakers in the past two weeks arguing that the criminal case not in favor of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker shows the need for a legalized system.
Gambling and casino interests spent almost $30 million on Washington lobbying in 2010 and rank as major donors to both parties, according to leak records. However, Center for Responsive Politics said the pace of lobbying so far this year is likely to be lower than it was in the final frantic months of 2010.

With three tables remaining in the World Poker Tour Foxwoods World Poker Finals with several big names in the field including former WPT winners Gavin Smith plus Hoyt Corkins. Also alive are Jason Mercier with Sorel Mizzi, who lately won the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up for a six-figure score.

Mercier is chasing for a Triple Crown after an EPT win and WSOP bracelet highlighting his tournament career. Interestingly, Daniel Negreanu could quite plausibly gain Triple Crowns to join Gavin Smith with Roland de Wolfe in the exclusive club within the next two days.

Twenty-eight players remain and Hunichen has the largest stack at 714,000, or 142 big blinds. He’s over 100,000 leading the second place stack of Nikolai Yakovenko, who will come armed to Sunday’s festivities with 580,000, or 116 big blinds. The top 25 players will have the money.

Brock “t soprano” Parker was one of the final eliminations of Day 3 went to, also making noises on Saturday was sponsored pro Jason Mercier. Regardless of his laundry list of tournament victories, Mercier has only cashed in a WPT event one time, taking 21st in last year’s World Poker Finals for $26,000. This year, he bears the eighth largest tally with 28 players remaining at 342,000 and could be poised for a run at his first WPT final table. Days before, Mercier moved all-in with a king-high straight and an opponent called for his tournament life with a set of fours.

Celebrity couple split offs have been one of the latest trends these days. David Arquette and Courtney Cox are among the couples who joined Splitsville’s every growing population.

Arquette was so open with his interview about several private things about their marriage and their separation. However, he realized this in the end and apologized about what it.

After spilling lots of things to media, he was spotted walking with a poker face early in the morning in Hollywood. Instead of seeing him riding his vehicle, he preferred to stroll in the area wearing a suit, red tie, pants, and worn down footwear. According to news, spotting Arquette this early in the morning with a drink on his hand is better than hearing him spew private information on television. The next thing to watch out is whether they will try to work things out or just continue to leave everything as is.

The owner of the house was Donald L. Coltrane that is located at 220 Washboard Road. As the police started the raid, Coltrane was also arrested and was filed with possessions of slot machines and gambling. He will be subjected to the court on September.

The police gathered some gambling stuffs that includes Poker tables, playing cards, poker chips, and an undisclosed amount of cash. However, the slot machines are more than what poker is stopped. It is the main object that will be cited as proof for the case. The police stated that there are many complaints about the operation held in the house of Coltrane. As soon as the authorities arrived in the scene, there were 40 gamblers on hand.

Recently, police is also busy raiding the Internet cafes, it was alleged that the owners of the cafes sells internet time which is illegal. As reported recently, the legalization of online poker is still hot in the Supreme Court. The case is still ongoing with regards to this matter.

While many feel that the Ladies Event of the WSOP is a bad idea, Obrestad went on to say that women poker players, in general, “suck.”

She then made a target of herself when putting Brunson’s ability down to “ego” and stated she’d love to play him. Brunson, famously willing to engage all detractors via his blog and Twitter, dropped a controversial bomb himself when he suggested it was a “bad time of the month” for Obrestad (a Tweet he later felt compelled to apologize for, to women everywhere.)

With her bluster going into the WSOP, Obrestad’s best effort so far is a 72nd place finish at the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Event and $10,497.

Brunson’s controversial Tweet also contained an open ended challenge – “By the way, I’m at Bobby’s Room almost every day if she really wants to play.”

In Las Vegas you will unite with Doyle Brunson and other six members of the Brunson 10. You will have dinner with Mr. Brunson himself as well as an invite to the Doyle’s Room party afterwards and all sorts of other good stuff in line. Such as Autographed copies of his books, DoylesRoom apparel and gear.

Winning one of these DoylesRoom promo code packages would also be a great way for players to get noticed by the godfather of poker himself and put you in the shop window for election to the Brunson 10.

Newest kid on the block named as the newest member of the elite Brunson 10. And the best online tournament player in the industry has just found a home with DoylesRoom.

The 24-year-old Steve Gross is a Triple Crown winner and won the Monthly PLB title in February last year when he beat out fellow Brunson 10 member Chris Moorman. The Triple Crown success is quite remarkable as it requires winning three $10,000 tournaments during the among the weeklong event.

Furthermore, in 2008 Steve Gross aka “gboro780” finished off runner-up in Card Player’s Online Player of the Year pursuit to Alex Kamberis aka “AJKHoosier1”.

In his incredibly short career, a native of Marlboro, New Jersey has took home nearly $3 million in all online poker tournaments he’s been. At the moment, DoylesRoom promo code is considered one of the prime movers in online poker gaming industry and Gross is more than honored but lucky to be part of their success.
